Recruiters honoured for work at London 2012
A number of recruitment professionals have been honoured for their work in the Queen’s New Year’s honours.
Paul Modley, former head of recruitment at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), and Jean Tomlin, HR director at LOCOG, were awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) and the Order of the British Empire (OBE) respectively for their work in recruiting the workforce for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Modley tells Recruiter: “I can only assume that I have been recognised for all the great work that we achieved in delivering against our local employment and diversity and inclusion commitments. This is a great recognition, not just for me but for the whole LOCOG recruitment team.”
Also receiving an OBE for his work in the recruitment effort for 2012 is Andrew Moncrieffe, a 2012 recruitment consultant at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), for services to diversity and inclusion in the Games.
Other OBEs are given to various DWP staff for a variety of employment and job-related services, namely Mhairi Doyle, Santosh Fenwick, Grace Hall, Elizabeth McCafferty, Lynne Middleton and James Murdoch.
Modley will speak at Recruiter’s upcoming Smart Resourcing 2013 conference on 28 February.
