Brazil and India will lead the way among the world’s 10 largest economies for hiring in 2013.

A survey of 6,000 hiring managers across these countries undertaken by careers site CareerBuilder finds 71% of Brazilian firms looking to increase headcount in 2013, compared with 67% in India.

Only one other country – China (52%) – registers a figure above 50% in this category, while the UK sees 30% of firms looking to increase headcount, with just under half (46%) expecting staff numbers to remain the same.

Italy is alone in seeing more firms expecting to downsize their staff (33%) than looking to bring in more people (19%).

Availability continues to rise for both perm and temp candidates

November saw increased availability of workers for the ninth straight month of the year, countered by lingering economic uncertainty and hesitancy to commit to new hires.
