The director of a mushroom farm in Limburg, The Netherlands, has been held over suspected labour exploitation and forgery by the inspectorate of the Ministry for Social Affairs and Employment (Inspectie SZW).

The Inspectie believes that the workers come from Poland, were underpaid with deductions made for housing, meals and insurance, working very long days and with very few days off.

A further man has been arrested, believed to have been involved in manipulating the wages and working hours of the workers, following three other arrests in August as part of the same investigation.
