Accountants in demand heading in and out the house
An accountant with experience of working in an in-house role in commerce & industry and in private practice is increasingly seen as extremely valuable, according to the recruitment chief of major accountancy firm PwC.
Head of experienced hire recruitment Peter Wareham tells Recruiter that far from there being a tough-to-cross line between the in-house and private practice worlds for accountants, “I think what our employees and what we as an organisation are appreciating more and more is that actually that cross-pollination of experience is actually hugely valuable to us and our clients”.
Taking someone from one world into the other, he says, is one way that the valuable mix of technical skills and commercial nous can be found.
• Wareham was speaking to Recruiter for the accountancy Sector Focus, on p14 of the new edition of the magazine, out last Friday (18 January).
