UK businesses fail to use talent information
UK companies are failing to make best use of use of internally held talent information about their organisations, according to a new report.
The report, ‘Understanding the Impact of Talent Intelligence’ by IT services company Oracle, found that, for example, 54% of the 300 firms surveyed, said they have access to data on ‘average time to hire for critical roles’, but only 41% judged this to be ‘very important’.
The report suggests that the main reason for the disparity between having access to data and a willingness to use it is because of poor integration of this data into HR practices, with a majority (51%) saying that this was due to cost reasons.
Only 25% ‘strongly agreed’ that HR uses workplace metrics to demonstrate their contribution toward business goals.
