Outsourcing firm Capita has acquired social work recruitment consultancy Medicare First for an undisclosed sum.

No details of the deal were given by Capita, which is the firm’s first purchase of a recruitment company in a year that, as previously reported on this website, has seen multiple acquisitions made by the firm.

Medicare provides qualified social workers to public and third sector organisations throughout the UK, and allied health professionals including occupational therapists to a variety of specialist clients.

It has 150 clients nationwide, with a strongest footprints in London and the Home Counties, and employs 50 staff in its London Bridge base.
