Working Links is to deliver between 700-800 courses over a 17-month contract to help more than 8,000 young people as part of the government’s Routes into Work programme.

The programme, funded by the Skills Funding Agency and delivered in partnership with Jobcentre Plus to young people aged 18-24 from six months unemployment, offers tailored training schemes to arm young people with essential skills needed to start a career in a specific industry, initially covering jobs in retail, travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure, and now expanded to include security and facilities management.

Specially-trained tutors from Working Links offices across the UK will work with employers to identify their business needs and combine this with industry best-practice provided by Sector Skills Councils.
