Worker wages

Ideal salary for British workers is £38,000

The ideal wage for British workers is £38,000, according to a new survey.

The survey, from recruitment website jobsite.co.uk, found that £38,000 was enough for most workers to live relatively comfortably.

The survey also found that 30% of workers are unhappy with their current wage, 20% think they are underpaid, 70% believe they will never attain their dream salary and 25% had never had a pay rise.

Keith Potts, chief executive at jobsite.co.uk, told the Daily Mail newspaper: “The key to negotiating a good salary is to show what your skills and expertise are worth.”
