World Cup nears
A job website launched to recruit the extra barstaff needed for the World Cup has been inundated with hundreds of enquiries.
The site, barzone.co.uk, was launched by BII, the professional body for licensed retail. It’s not only bar staff that are in demand, says BII, door supervisors are also hot property during this time, as are chefs.
Jobseeker, Helen McCormack from Shropshire, says: “Getting paid to soak up the World Cup atmosphere and get the best view of the match can’t be a bad thing. Having just finished my degree it is the ideal time for me to get a temporary job in a pub.”
