Web ChatSave us from more licensing red tape

Reports of appalling worker treatment has prompted the TUC to call for more licensing. The last thing this country needs is more expensive — and ineffective — red tape.

Reports of appalling worker treatment has prompted the TUC to call for more licensing. The last thing this country needs is more expensive — and ineffective — red tape. From what has been reported, it seems to me that the Wages Act, the National Minimum Wage and the 'Conduct' regulations could all have been used and should have been more than enough to deal with Baltic Work Teams. So why weren't they? What's more, fraud aside, how could Baltic have shown that they were suitable to hold a licence? Paying around £2.4k (I believe) for a licence clearly did nothing to stop Baltic's atrocious behaviour. Let's use the law we have to stop it in those other sectors and stop calling for more costly red tape.
