Fishing for candidates or just poaching?

This practice of poaching candidates is not something that has been carried on by any company I have worked for.

Fishing for candidates or just poaching?

This practice of poaching candidates is not something that has been carried on by any company I have worked for.

Should a candidate placed by my agency respond to any advert we place, place their CV on a job board or contact us to find them another position, then we will re-register that candidate as they are obviously looking for a career move. This is not poaching; this is placing a jobseeker who is actively looking for a new position.

Bring back Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

Bring back the Thatcher days when we were encouraged to have entrepreneurs and enterprise — all this government does is tax, tax, tax and give no support to grow a small business.

In comparison to then, we have no manufacturing/ engineering plants left — this government is clearly not thinking long term.

Recruiters, take dyslexia seriously

There are many issues that need to be considered during the recruitment process with a dyslexic applicant. There are special adjustments made in exam situations at school, so surely these need to be made in recruitment. Particularly, as it is now proven that in stressful situations, dyslexics' coping mechanisms can be less effective than those who are not dyslexic and impact on performance. This might suggest that some parts of candidate assessment are not respresentative of a dyslexic's on the job performance (see also Advice Shop, p35).
