Competition for e-commerce talent this summer will be fierce, according to a survey by executive search firm Bearing Partnership.

The survey shows that 36% of e-commerce managers plan to grow their teams this year, while 50% will maintain headcount following a successful 2008.

Tim Smith, co-founder and director of Bearing Partnership, says: “We’re seeing confidence in e-commerce grow year-on-year and we’ve noticed a 30% uplift in companies hiring, aiming to equip themselves for anticipated growth.

“For many organisations e-commerce is their only performing sector in challenging trading conditions, so it’s a positive market for e-commerce candidates with the right skills and attitude.”
