As reported by the Lancashire Evening Post, supermarket Waitrose is to expand across the North-West, creating large numbers of jobs.

Next autumn, the store will open a new regional distribution centre in Chorley, creating 600 new jobs. A company spokesperson tells Recruiter that hiring for drivers, warehouse operatives and catering and office staff at the centre would start in the spring.

This expansion northwards — until seven years ago the company’s northern-most store was in Newark, Nottinghamshire — will continue with £100m to be invested in new stores, creating 1,500 additional new jobs.

All Waitrose recruitment is done online through the company’s website.
