Wade joins Costain to direct HR operations

International engineering and construction group Costain has appointed Christina Wade as director of human resources.

Wade joins from Centrica and will lead the group’s people strategies for its 2,300 employees.

As head of HR at Centrica’s corporate centre, Wade was responsible for a range of people initiatives, including working with the group finance director on a people strategy for Centrica’s finance employees, delivering a capability framework for improved talent and succession planning to support people in their careers.

She was also previously head of HR at British Gas Services, within the Centrica Group.

Commenting on her appointment, Wade said: “I am very excited to be joining Costain as HR director. The organisation has a great heritage and reputation, and I look forward to working with my colleagues.”

My aim is to provide the best opportunities for all of Costain’s employees and to maximise their talent and contribution to the business. This will come through increased dialogue with managers, as well as greater employee engagement, which will provide real long-term benefits for our employees and customers
