Recruitment firm add-victor tells Recruiter its career model can help improve a sports person’s success even before they retire.
As London’s Olympic and Paralympic summer draws to a close, recruiters add-victor, which works exclusively with candidates in British sports and the armed forces, tells Recruiter its recruitment model can assist an athlete in furthering their athletic success while also preparing them for life after sport.
Steve White-Cooper, a director and co-founder at the firm and formerly an international rugby player, explains in the video below the ad how offering internships and employment opportunities to Olympians and Paralympians aiming for Rio de Janeiro in 2016 is of benefit to all parties:
In fact, add-victor’s belief that prolonging people’s career in sport can be achieved through external employment opportunities are backed up by research from the Australian Institute of Sport and, White-Cooper tells Recruiter, World Cup winning rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, currently Team GB’s deputy chef de mission. Woodward, he says, “is a big fan of athletes having time away because he personally believes it will enhance their on-field performance”.
White-Cooper himself left professional rugby partially due to concerns around his own career progression, he says. In the second video, below, he explains how his own experiences led to him and co-founder Tom Onions putting together add-victor, which launched in July.
