Around 65% of UK professionals are happy or very happy in their current position, compared to 63% globally, according to new research by professional network LinkedIn, with Recruitermagazine lagging behind.

UK and global contentedness levels compare with a figure of 80% for Dutch professionals – the most professionally content – and just 31% of employees in Japan.

This also comes the week after recruiter.co.uk reported that the Office of National Statistics was to draw the line between being well and being Welsh, and the release of an internal survey that required that only 50% of Recruiter magazine staff described themselves as ‘well’.

Globally, 52% of those surveyed ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that, ‘If I work hard and demonstrate results, I have a good opportunity to advance in my company’, compared with 45% in the UK. Spanish workers were the least optimistic, at 44%, and Brazilian workers the most, at 63%.

Recruiter magazine is open to offers of free stuff from its dedicated readership as part of a drive to improve wellness levels at the magazine.
