Move will guarantee agencies demand
The delivery company TNT has launched a nationwide programme aimed at reducing its temporary staff costs after the completion of a successful pilot programme.
The firm claimed fragmentation among temporary agencies had caused inefficiencies in the supply of its temps.
The pilot scheme was launched in October in conjunction with de Poel Managed Service, a cost reduction consultancy.
New service level contracts will guarantee temporary agencies a level of demand in future.
TNT’s head of purchasing, Simon Boggis, said: “This was an area in which we could not only decrease costs, but improve standardisation and develop supplier relationships.”
