TMP Worldwide is planning a round of cost cutting due to current employment trends.

The global recruitment advertsing giant says its actions reflect general trends in employment within the UK and Ireland recruitment market place. The company is currently talking to employees across its business due to lower client activity and spend.

Andrew Wilkinson, chief executive at TMP Worldwide, says: “The first quarter of 2009 has been tough and although we have met our budgeted commitments, the short and medium term picture remains  challenging with clients maintaining tight controls on costs and deferring hiring decisions.

“TMP continues to focus on retaining its customer focus and service levels in the face of volatile trading conditions and doesn’t anticipate any impact on service delivery.”
