One in three jobseekers feels unappreciated by their employer, according to a poll from Monster.co.uk.

The poll shows 34% of those who were “very unhappy” report the main reason they were looking for a new role was because they didn’t find their current role challenging or rewarding enough. Other reasons for wanting to move jobs were a desire for better salary and benefits (24%) and to find something less stressful (13%).

Of those claiming to be very happy, three in four said one of the main reasons they were so content was their employer valued their contribution to the company.

Isabelle Ratinaud, Monster UK & Ireland spokesperson, says: “Staff retention is a perennially important issue faced by every business in every industry. There will always be demand for talented employees and the challenge is to ensure that your business is the one offering that ’better job’.”
