These days a good recruiter is hard to find

Despite the pick-up in the market, there is a talent shortage of good recruiters, according to David Lawrence, managing director and founder of Vine Resources.

“Clients are hiring like crazy,” he told Recruiter at his new, larger offices in the City of London. “The market has really picked up. We plan to hire 25-30 people this year, but it’s getting harder to find good recruiters; the talent pool has shrunk.”

Lawrence has been mapping out the competition from which to target top talent, as well as arranging networking events which he hopes will build up a talent pool for the future. He is also being proactive and speaking to business schools in London, such as the London School of Economics, educating undergraduates about the recruitment industry.

The company has also launched a dedicated career site and revamped its website.

With a Swedish office opened five months ago, Lawrence’s European ambitions are to have sales offices throughout the continent.
