A restructuring is under way of Transport for London’s (TfL) human resources department that will reduce the HR function from 368 staff to 306.
The department includes 69 recruitment-related roles and will have the same number after the restructuring. However, a spokeswoman said the roles themselves would undergo redefinition and restructuring, which means that there may be personnel changes.
HR staff have until 19 August to apply for available roles under the new structure or consider flexible working hours, a TfL spokeswoman told Recruiter. The newly streamlined department will go live in November, she added.
The HR reshaping is part of Project Horizon, a comprehensive review of TfL’s structure, as Tfl seeks to realise £7.6bn of savings and efficiencies by 2017/18. As part of the process, the number of directors at TfL has been reduced by 25%. Project Horizon also aims to save at least 20% in costs related to support services, which include HR.
