REC urges government not to bring in more regulations

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has called on the government no to introduce more regulations that could impact on the recruitment industry.

Tom Hadley, the REC’s director of external relations, said: “At this delicate time for the UK labour market, it is more important than ever that the government is not swayed and that the focus is on ensuring that the European directive on agency workers is implemented in the UK in a way that does not harm our temporary and contract work model.”

Hadley’s comments came ahead of a meeting between the Cabinet and the Labour Party National Policy Forum, during which employment law is likely to be on the agenda.
