A Suffolk agency has become the 46th gangmaster to have its licence removed by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA).
The GLA found that Vilnius Recruitment, of Leiston, Suffolk failed to ensure the safety of its workers, and showed a complete disregard for their welfare.
Among the practices the GLA found were:
•Overcrowded and overpriced accommodation;
•Agricultural minimum wage not paid;
•No holiday pay;
•Cars used to transport workers were uninsured despite previous warnings.
Paul Whitehouse, chairman of the GLA said: "The GLA is intent on cracking down on illegal work practices in a bid to protect workers from exploitation."
