Spencer Stuart has placed Michael Whan as the new commissioner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Whan has a personal and professional background in golf, including serving as executive vice-president and general manager (North American Region) for Taylormade-adidas Golf.

US-based Diversified Search Odgers Berndtson has placed Laurie David Villa as chief people officer at retail electric provider Liberty Power.

Villa will lead Liberty Power’s HR policies, processes and infrastructure, and be responsible for implementing and ensuring best practices in employee management and talent development throughout the organisation.

She has held senior positions with notable multi-billion dollar corporations and was senior vice-president, human resources, at women’s speciality retailer, Ann Taylor.

And Heidrick & Struggleshas placed David B Wescoe as the new executive administrative director of the US Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans (MPIPHP), effective 1 December.

Wescoe currently serves the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System (SDCERS) as administrator and chief executive. MPIPHP is based in Studio City, California.
