IT recruiter SThree generated revenue of £393.3m in the year to November 2006, up 24.8% on a year earlier.

Pre-tax profit was £18.1m, up from £12m. Permanent placements increased by 27.6% to 7,685, with average fees up 7.4%. There were 4,719 active contractors at 30 November, up 8.1%.

Chief executive Russell Clements (pictured) said: "2006 was another very good year for SThree. Positive business sentiment underpinned healthy demand for the specialist staff we supply. These market conditions allowed the Group to make further significant progress in terms of both the volume and the quality of the business it undertook."
