Staff won’t flirt at work_2

Survey finds employees find office romance annoying

Around 70% of workers would not flirt in the office, according to a survey by Euroffice.co.uk.

It found that 10% of workers said romance in the workplace is annoying. However one out of three people said by the water cooler was the best location for flirting with their colleagues.

George Karibian, chief executive of Euroffice.co.uk, says: “People are working longer hours and typically spending more time away from family and friends and more time with colleagues making it only natural for men and women to be drawn into relationships – whatever the nature.

However, this is countered by both legal and social pressures to keep relationships and flirting out of the professional business environment – creating a volatile mix in the office.”
