Recruiters who smoke will soon be feeling under extra pressure. Smoking is banned in most workplaces, resulting in many employees having to indulge their habit outside the entrance. In July, smoking will be banned in enclosed public places. Is there a solution? A product called Nicogel, which is rubbed into the hands in the same way as a liquid soap, promises to help managers cope with cravings during long meetings. "Just a few squirts a day can give smokers the same kick they get from cigarettes without the damaging effects of smoking tobacco," says the ad blurb. Recruiters say it's the squirts (candidates, rec-to-rec firms) they deal with on a daily basis that drove them to smoking in the first place...
