Spirit toasts Smith's resourcing skills

Pub chain Spirit Pub Company has appointed Catherine Smith as head of resourcing following its recent demerger from Punch Taverns.

Smith has a background in high-street recruitment and brings seven years of industry experience to Spirit, where she leads an in-house recruitment team of five.
As head of resourcing Smith will be developing a social media strategy for the firm to communicate its employee brand and attract talent.

Smith said: “At Spirit Pub Company our aim is simple: to be the UK’s best managed pub company. To achieve our goal we need to attract and retain the most talented and motivated people who are passionate about hospitality.”

Catherine’s role is central… through her creative approach to talent acquisition we are recruiting high-calibre employees. This is leading to success not only in terms of us consistently out performing our direct competitors but in the last 12 months we were able to promote more than ’400 members of our pub teams to team leader positions
