Southampton-based IT recruiter has bucked the trend of economic hardship, doubling in size in its first year.

The company has moved from its London Road office to a new base at Southampton Science Park in Chilworth, after growing from three to six personnel.

Ian Cruickshank, sales director of Spectrum IT, told Recruiter the company plans to hire another three staff before the end of the year:

“The market is definitely showing signs of turning with this month (May) being our biggest month to date since Spectrum IT started.  We are currently working with a number of companies who have significant expansion plans for this year.

“We see the recession as an opportunity to demonstrate our ability and win business from our competitors. It will also ensure we are in the right position to maximise our delivery capabilities when the market recovers.”
