What steps are you taking to make your business greener??

"There are many benefits in taking a green stance. Most of our business is conducted over the internet and email, and this by default eliminates the need for many hard copies. Our paper records are kept to an absolute minimum, which saves space and costs. I would advise anyone relying on IT storage to ensure the security of information in terms of both access and back-ups, is properly managed and maintained. With the right systems in place it is surprising just how efficient a virtually paperless office can be."

STEVE PAYNE PARTNER,
MANA RESOURCING

"Our staff are very aware of green issues. For example, we run a paper and printer cartridge recycling scheme through London Recycling and have notices to remind staff to switch off lights after meetings. Our most exciting green initiative is one we've launched recently to encourage staff to cycle to work. We've linked up with Evans Cycles to buy bikes for staff. Needless to say, with our sporty and active team, this initiative is being enthusiastically embraced across the company!"

CHRIS KING MANAGING DIRECTOR,
THE SPORTS RECRUITMENT COMPANY

"Through small changes such as the use of paper from sustainable forests, the use of recycled products, subsidised public transport and contributions to charities such as the World Land Trust and the World Wildlife Fund, we are very influenced by ecological issues. The facilities available from our local council and the amount of information on the web make it virtually impossible to remain uneducated on this subject. So when it comes to purchasing new products and services we focus on what is best for the environment.""
