Sky has launched a new training academy to develop 50 software developers.

Sky has launched a new training academy to develop 50 software developers.

Successful candidates will join Sky in September as associate software developers with a starting salary of £30,000. 

The new recruits, based at the firm’s offices in Osterley, Greater London, will work on developing new apps, websites and interactive and mobile services, while receiving training in technical skills development.

Roles are designed for those at the beginning of a career in software engineering, while applications from new graduates and those with some relevant experience will be considered. Placements are for two years and typically include four, six-month long placements in different specialism’s within the chosen area.

Deborah Baker, Sky’s director for people, says: “As our business continues to grow and we increase the delivery of innovative products and services available to our customers, investing in the future talent of our business is critical.”
