Simply Hired is game on with IT-savvy generation

Further evidence of recruiters using favourite online hang-outs of the gaming generation to target future

Further evidence of recruiters using favourite online hang-outs of the gaming generation to target future IT-savvy talent comes with Simply Hired's announcement of its alliance with the web's leading games and entertainment website, IGN.com.

IGN users can click on 'Find jobs', which takes them through to a list of relevant vacancies held on the jobs search engine. Currently they are US-based but UK roll-out will follow soon. The move is part of Simply Hired's strategy to expand into niche markets. Simply Hired chief executive Gautam Godhwani told Recruiter that a large part of IGN's attraction is that it has an extremely high-level of engagement from users. "It's a very compelling site and this is a very sought-after demographic," he said.

As well as the gaming industry itself, Godhwani believes such talent will help employers fill jobs in technology-related professions, including engineering and development. "That is the sweet spot," he said.

Simply Hired has around 6m job listings on its site and through its publisher network offers a jobs search on more than 2,000 blogs and niche sites.
