Senior independent director salaries have risen by 13%, according to a new survey by executive search consulting firm Spencer Stuart.

The results also show that the average basic non-executive director’s fee is £54,000, up 8% on last year, while the average tenure of both chairman and chief executive has risen

For the second year in a row less companies have one or more woman non-executive director (63%), down from 72.6% in 2007.
