Sellafield fully embraces Capita's embedded team

Capita Resourcing won the inaugural award for Best Embedded Recruiting Team at the event, thanks to its onsite team based at nuclear decommissioning plant Sellafield in North-West England.

Julie Cooke, account director for Capita Resourcing, told Recruiter: “This award tops a fantastic year for the Sellafield team at Capita.”
The team was up against stiff competition from Alexander Mann Solutions, Carlisle Managed Solutions, Independent, Randstad Managed Services, Resource Solutions and the site-managed services division at Right4staff. “Not only have we fulfilled our primary role as recruiters effectively, through recruiting over 900 new contractors over the past year and managing nearly 1,300 contract renewals, but we have also gone beyond this to be fully embedded in our client’s processes,” Cooke said. The team is regularly approached by hiring mangers for advice in relation to Sellafield’s own processes, as well as Capita’s, as the team are viewed as experts through their depth of knowledge of the client.

And this knowledge has been rewarded for the future, too. “As a result, we have recently been awarded the contract to supply contractors to the whole of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority estate across the UK for the next five years,” she said. “I have always been proud of my team, but none more so than at the Recruiter Awards in front of our peers and some of the best recruitment companies in the UK.”
