Scottish workers
It takes 24% of Scottish workers only 5-10 minutes to start work in the morning, compared to the 33% of Northern Irish workers that still aren’t in work mode after an hour of being in the office, according to research by OAexecutive.
Scots prove to be an efficient bunch, with 54% choosing to clear their inbox or desk as their typical Monday morning activity and a further 44% spend the time writing to-do lists and organising their workload. The remainder of the UK spend their Monday mornings in a less productive fashion, choosing to gossip with colleagues (36%) and surf on the Internet (25%), rather than tackle their inbox.
The Scottish workforce embraces technology more so than any other region in the UK, with only 3% of office workers stating they would be glad to see the back of the internet.
Dedicated and loyal are words used to describe the Scottish workforce, with 43% stating they worked just as hard as before during their notice period whereas one in five (18%) workers in the South confess they hardly worked during their notice period.
Fraser McLeod, operations manager for OAexecutive, says: "We are not surprised that Scottish workers come out on top when it comes to efficiency and dedication in the workplace. Local employers seem to be recognising their workforce’s value though and OAexecutive has recently opened an office in Edinburgh to cater for the increasing demand for senior support and middle management level roles in the area."
