Novo Executive Search and Selection, a Bristol-based company, has been putting its experiences and expertise to use mentoring local A Level students, giving guidance and advice on writing CVs and interview skills.

As an executive search firm, Novo works with many of the country’s top businesses to identify key professionals, part of this work includes conducting interviews and reading CVs on a day-to-day basis. This expertise was harnessed to give students at Gordano school in Portishead and The Red Maids school in Westbury-on-Trym employment workshops as part of their UCAS and Careers weeks.

Suzi Fox, director at Novo, comments: “We have extensive knowledge of conducting interviews at executive level and in the process reading thousands of CVs. By using this expertise to run workshops at local schools, we aim to help the development of the directors of the future.”

The sessions offered to students included ‘getting your CV right’, ‘identifying and understanding transferable skills’ and ‘interview skills and tips’.
