Say it with... not a lot

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, busy Canadian executives can rest assured that their amorous celebrations can be
appropriate to the challenging economic times we’re in. The Dating Headhunter, as ExecutiveSearchDating.com likes to bill itself, offers single Vancouverites hints on making the big day special, but without splashing out too much of their hard-earned cash. Here are a couple of tips — feel free to customise for your own circumstances…

1. Winter-ise your picnic (bear in mind Vancouver temperatures make our climes seem simply tropical). Bring a few deck chairs, a space heater, your winter rain gear and celebrate with a picnic by the seawall (Sounds heavenly…)

2. Dinner for two in your favourite living room. (Ye-e-es…) Glitz it up with your ballroom attire and a nice bottle of bubbly (ooh, steady now, go for the Asti option. Champers might be a bit pricey).

3. Mountain top romance: a day of skiing or snowboarding followed by dinner and drinks at one of the local mountains is a sure fire hit for hard core skiers. (Now that’s more like it! However, unless you’re a recruiter near the base of Ben Nevis, this rather more appealing Valentine’s Day option may be beyond the realms of most of us.)

Do let us know if you try out any of these suggestions — with any pictorial evidence!
