Royal London is to create 105 new jobs through a relocation and internal recruitment drive, according to a spokesperson for the life and pensions firm.

Earlier this week the firm announced it is to merge with Royal Liver.

A spokesperson for the firm says that while 222 jobs will be lost as Royal London’s Liverpool office closes, 105 new roles will be created at existing offices in Wilmslow, 40 miles east of Liverpool, and in London.

The spokesperson adds these jobs will be opened in the first case exclusively to current employees, who will have the option of a four-week, trial relocation ‘to try out the commute and see how the new set-up works for them’. There are presently no plans to open up to external candidates.
