Reed Job Index: New job numbers fall

The number of new jobs fell across the country, according to the latest Reed Job Index.

The index was down 3 points on February but year-on-year demand was up 25% with a reading of 128.

The index was down 3 points on February but year-on-year demand was up 25% with a reading of 128.

The private sector accounted for the increase while new public sector jobs continued to decline.

Growth was recorded in transport & logistics (178), manufacturing (157), engineering (155), and construction & property (124) strategy & consultancy (198) estate agency (120), and hospitality & catering (119).
