International recruitment specialist Reed has been granted a Knowledge Village TECOM licence, which authorises Reed Personnel Services to operate as an executive search firm in Dubai.

James Reed, chairman of Reed, said: “Opening a specialist recruitment operation in Dubai is another key element within our global expansion. The new Dubai office strengthens Reed’s commitment to and presence within the Middle East, where we already have a substantial operation in Qatar and a smaller presence in Abu Dhabi.”

Maria Brown, associate director of Reed in the Middle East and North Africa, added: “Reed is already an important recruitment business partner for a number of employers throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

“Within two years I expect Reed’s Dubai operation will have expanded to somewhere near 50 staff and be working with employers to help them find and bring in the best available talent across all our 30 professional and sector specialisms.”

Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) was launched in 2003 with the aim of placing the Middle East on the map as a destination for learning excellence. It was founded as part of a long-term economic strategy to develop the region’s talents and introduce new skills.

DKV operates to international standards and provides a first-class infrastructure for those licensed to operate.
