Caan makes TV debut

James Caan (pictured), the founder of Alexander Mann, made his debut on BBC’s Dragons Den last night.

Figure-obsessed Caan made an offer to become a shareholder in The Double Dates, which offered customers the chance to spend the day with a celebrity look-a-like, but eventually withdrew his £50,000 offer.

He turned down the opportunity to invest in a product to prevent cyclists from getting wet legs, a product to turn gym balls into furry seats and a dating website - dateswithyourmates.co.uk.

He made an offer of £50,000 to get involved in Beach Break Live, a three-day music festival in Cornwall for students, but he was outbid by a fellow Dragon.

He then turned down opportunities to get involved with businesses that sold natural washing products, a company aiming to bring Tuc Tucs to London and a series of children’s books about the adventures of a dog called Nobby.

Finally, at the end of the show, he invested £60,000 in the Midas Touch - a gold-plating business.
