Recruiters have the chance this morning to engage directly with employment relations minister Edward Davey at a Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) breakfast seminar, following publication of draft Agency Workers Regulations guidance last week.

The seminar, at Epsom Downs Racecourse, will also be addressed by Malcolm Lawrence, employment law solicitor with QualitySolicitors Copley Clark, while Paul Burstow, minister for care services and MP for Sutton and Cheam, will also attend.

Tom Hadley, the REC’s director of policy and professional services, says: “The event will enable us to touch on some of the other priority issues for the industry that we have flagged in previous meetings with the minister.

The seminar will also provide an opportunity to discuss AWR issues with client organisations and to address common misconceptions. This forms an important part of our AWR campaign.”
