Recruiter appeals for industry support after wife refused cancer treatment

A recruiter is asking fellow recruiters for support to provide his wife with life-saving treatment for a rare form of bone cancer.

Marcus Hutchinson, sales manager at sales recruiter Goldteam, made the appeal after his wife Charlotte’s request for funding was turned down by his local PCT. The treatment called cyberknife is only available privately and not through the NHS.

Hutchinson says that treatment will cost around £45,000, with £25,000 required by the middle of April for the set up and consulting costs.

Anyone who wishes to help can either send money (please email Marcus at [email protected] for details) or donate items for auction.

In an email distributed to the industry, Hutchinson writes: “This is truly a scary time for Charlotte and myself. We have only been married for two years and planned a long and happy life together. By helping us with donations to a blind auction you will be helping to save Charlotte’s life.

“Successful fundraising events are not possible without kind donations from organisations such as yours. If you are able to donate we would, of course, acknowledge and promote your support to all the attendees of the auctions. If you wish a company logo on the programmes, please can you email me a PDF of your company.

“We are hoping for items to auction and I am in the process of organising venues to hold the auctions.”

All donations should be sent to the following address:
