REC rewarded for its diversity campaign_2

Industry trade association has been recognised for its diversity pledge

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has been recognised by the CBI for its industry-wide diversity charter and pledge.

The trade body secured the CBI Trade Association Forum’s Social Initiative Award for its diversity work with JobCentre Plus, which is aimed at giving guidance to small and medium companies in order to improve their ability to have a diverse workforce.  The REC created a package of tools and support information to achieve their aim, including an online diagnostic.

The REC’s managing director Gareth Osborne says: “The REC is really punching above its weight in the world of trade associations. We are proud to position our industry at the forefront of the social agenda with our diversity work with JobCentre Plus.”

The REC says to date more than 320 recruiters have signed up to the pledge.
