Two recruitment-to-recruitment agencies are having their cases reviewed by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation to see of they can continue to be members of the REC's sector group.

The review follows the introduction of upgraded membership criteria which requires members to attend the AGM of the REC rec-to-rec sector group, and for them to provide two client and two candidate references on application. They must also attend the first meeting following their application in order for official election to be accepted.

Group chairman, and joint managing director of McCall, Nick Bancroft, told Recruiter: "The new criteria has been very well received as the aim of the group is one of continuous improvement by making the rec-to-rec group more difficult to get into. Then we can ensure that the service and reputation of our sector is of a high standard."

The outcome of the review is expected within a month.
