The REC worried over new plans for flexible working
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) says it is concerned about the impact an International Labour Organisation (ILO) recommendation could have on flexible and contract work.
The REC says the ILO’s “prescriptive measures for regulating flexible working arrangements” could “mitigate against the type of work arrangement enjoyed by thousands of temporary and contract workers in the UK, which is why employer representative bodies did not support the final recommendation.”
The final recommendation is being closely followed by the European Commission, which is intending to issue a Green Paper on these matters in the autumn.
