REASONS FOR LEAVING_2
PPS reveals top reasons for quitting
A completely new career is the top reason for leaving a job, according to new research from PPS, the HR outsourcing arm of Badenoch & Clark.
The research found that other popular reasons for leaving are: a lack of promotion opportunities (19%), dissatisfaction with the company’s management (14%) and dissatisfied with the job (10%).
Poor salary (10%), lack of flexibility with working hours ( 9%), personal relocation (7%) and business restructuring (6%) were also cited.
Amanda Marques, managing director of PPS, says: “Employers need to look at the reasons why people leave their organisation and consider the retention tools available to them, adapting these to best suit their organisation’s needs. Engaging in regular appraisals, providing training and development, and encouraging inspirational management skills are just some steps employers can take to hold on to their staff.”
