IT and telecoms recruitment: MSI Group wins Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade category

MSI Group has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category, after increasing its export income for IT and telecoms contractors by 186% over three years.

MSI told Recruiter the company is aiming to increase its turnover from £10.5m last year, to £50m in the next three years. It plans to open offices in other countries. The company currently has contractors working in South Africa, Nigeria and Cameroon.

"Before opening offices abroad, we will look to build relationships with clients and make sure that we have the business revenue stream in place first," said Nicky Simpson, managing director of MSI Group.

James Parker, director of MSI Contract Recruitment, told Recruiter: "Visa issues and work permits are the most tedious thing when putting the contractors in place, it takes between four to eight weeks to make a placement, during that time someone could give them a counter offer, there's no morals there; they go where the money is."
