Monster finds employees are willing to take extreme measures to climb the ladder

More than a quarter of employees would take extreme measures to ensure career progression, while 70% take a more laissez faire attitude, according to Monster’s latest Monster Meter.

The research found that 8% of employees would threaten to leave in order to win promotion and 2% said they would stitch up colleagues.

Rob Brouwer, chief executive UK and Ireland, says: "Employees need to control their own destiny and demonstrate a level of pro-activity in seeking out recognition for good work and the subsequent rewards it can bring. Presenting your boss with clear, solid grounds for promotion and evidence of untapped skills that will benefit the company will ensure that you are in the running for the next available promotion.”
