The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has identified five areas in the country where illegal recruitment activities are rampant, reports Manila-based website sunstar.com.ph. POEA deputy director Hans Leo Cacdac said they are closely monitoring illegal activities in the National Capital Region (NCR), Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, Laguna province, Central Luzon region and Zamboanga City. Based on data from January to November 2006, there were more than 1,000 complainants who had fallen victim to illegal recruiters.
